Rogers Seeks Special Grant Funding
The Rogers School District will submit two 21st Century Community Learning Centers grant applications to the Arkansas Department of Education to establish a 21st CCLC pre-kindergarten classroom at Old Wire Road Elementary and a 21st CCLC after-school program at Oakdale Middle School for the 2010-2011 school year.

Approximately 20 four-year-olds and their families will be served through the 21st CCLC pre-k program. The goal is to provide pre-kindergarten children and their parents learning opportunities so that the children will enter kindergarten with the readiness skills they need for academic success.

It is anticipated that 200 students and their families will be served through the 21st CCLC after-school program. The goal of the program is to provide middle school students educational enrichment experiences based on best practices to raise academic achievement and enhance parental involvement.

For more information or to file comments regarding these project applications, contact the district grants director, Madeline Allin, at 479-636-3910 or mallin@rps.k12.ar.us.
