Wow! Six Rogers schools will receive nearly $350,000 as reward and recognition from the state for high student achievement. Way to go, Bellview, Janie Darr, Eastside, Lowell, New Tech & Old Wire Road!!
Bellview & Janie Darr elementaries scored among the Top 5% in overall performance for which they will receive $45,100 & $51,900 respectively for each award.
Eastside & Lowell scored in the Top 10% for overall performance and will be awarded about $25,000 each.
In another category that rewards schools for student academic growth, Bellview and Janie Darr also ranked in the Top 5% along with Rogers New Technology High School, which will receive $53,400.
Eastside and Old Wire Road elementaries also scored in the Top 10% for growth and will earn more than $25,000 each for that success.
Rewards are allotted based on the student enrollment and the level achieved - $100 per student for Top 5% results and $50 per student for Top 6-10% results. The state requires that schools use the funds for educational equipment and materials, bonuses, or additional staff to help student performance.
