District Use of NSLA Funding

Each school district receiving national school lunch state categorical funds shall provide a research-based program(s) or purpose(s) for students scoring below proficiency in order to improve instruction and increase academic achievement of those students. This does not prohibit use of funds in performing schools to continue doing those strategies that are sustaining that performance.

Rogers Public Schools uses the funds allotted through NSLA to support student achievement in a variety of ways.  All dollars are spent based on the rules and regulations of the fund.

Focus of the NSLA funds for 2018-2019 were developed based on a review of all academic data and professional development surveys.  They are as follows:

K-12 STEM Initiatives

Arkansas RISE support

Behavior Tools Training

National PBIS Leadership Forum

CGI and ECM math professional development

Next Generation Science Standards and Science Conferences

Math Standards and National Math Conference

Professional Development and Curriculum work

Elementary Literacy and Math Facilitators

Secondary Literacy, Math, Science and Social Studies Facilitators

Social Workers above the state requirement

Odysseyware for secondary schools

Experiential Field Trips

Dyslexia intervention services and training – district wide

Phonics training and materials for teachers – district wide

State, Regional and National conferences

Professional Learning Communities – speakers and conference attendance

Pre – K support (salary and benefits)

Accelerated summer program for middle school math

Summer school grade 9th-12th
