Congratulations to Karen Johnson, Frankie Jackson, Suzanne Hinkle, Melissa Cook, Jenny Walker, Jovita Ruth Stevens, Gary Springwater, Deborah Goff, Beth Talley, Cindy Baker, Susie Holt, Jamie Creekmore, Becky Boyett and Kim Dixon for achieving the gold standard in teaching by being certified by the National Board for Professional Teaching Standards in 2009. National Merit Finalists
From among 1.5 million juniors taking the PSAT and SAT in 22,000 high schools, seven students in the Rogers School District have achieved the prestigious distinction of being National Merit Finalists this year. The students at Rogers Heritage High School are Ashleigh Alecusan, Mark Hardiman and Alex March. At Rogers High School, the National Merit Finalists are Tracer Moore, Anna Salomaa, Christopher Sonntag and Grace Weiderhaft. These students represent less than one percent of U.S. high school seniors and are among the highest scoring 1,300 students in the nation.

New National Board Certified Teachers
Twelve Rogers teachers have earned the outstanding distinction of national board certification this year from the National Board for Professional Teaching Standards. National board certification is the highest credential in the profession of teaching.

The RHS JV Pom squad earned the Spirit Stick Award for their sincere spirit and enthusiasm at their UALR summer camp. They were also awarded a NDA National Championship Bid for exemplifying the best overall skill and dance technique. In addition, the squad earned the Team Dance Circle of Winners Gold Plaque for superb technique, showmanship, precision and memory.

National Cheerleaders Association Award-winners
RHS JV Cheerleaders won the Spirit Stick Award for their special spirit and enthusiasm at their UALR summer camp. They also were awarded the NCA National Championship Bid for exemplifying the best technical skills and cheerleading technique at the camp.
